Christopher Espinoza

Incumbent & Candidate for District 99 Board of Education

Christopher Espinoza is a dedicated member of the Community High School District 99 Board of Education, first elected in 2021 with his current term set to expire in 2025.

A 2018 graduate of Downers Grove North High School, Espinoza brings a unique and youthful perspective to the board, having been elected at the age of 20, making him one of the youngest elected officials in DuPage County.

Christopher's journey to the board was driven by his personal experiences as a student navigating post-graduation plans without familial guidance, inspiring him to advocate for more comprehensive support for students facing similar challenges. His campaign was notably supported by fellow Downers Grove North alumni, reflecting his commitment to community and collaborative progress. Throughout his tenure, Christopher has been an active voice in addressing unprecedented challenges, including navigating mask mandates, challenging hybrid learning models, and tackling the ongoing mental health epidemic. His dedication to educational excellence and student success is evident in his ongoing efforts to ensure that all District 99 students have access to exceptional education and opportunities.

As a District 99 Board Member, Christopher served as the district delegate on the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) Committee for the Joint Annual Conference in 2021 and 2022. He currently serves on the School Association for Special Education in DuPage County (SASED) Committee and the district’s Policy Committee.

Christopher earned his B.A. in Public Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago in December of 2024.
